設立の趣旨/Aim of Foundation
財団法人海の星学寮は、前理事長浜中亦七氏が私財を投じて、昭和25年（1950年）に創立し、次いで昭和27年(1952年）に財団法人海の星学寮として認可を受けた学生寮です。平成25年（2013年）に新法人法に基づき公益財団法人海の星学寮としてなりました。
創立に当たり浜中亦七氏が掲げた綱領、「誠を一貫し、常に譲りて、完全の信仰を養い、完全の人格を修め、完全の勤労を尽くし、完全の貢献を為す」事を目標に、「優秀な資質を有する学徒に、寮を提供して修学を助け、且つ教養の向上を図り、以て社会有為の人材を育成すること」を目的として、京都にある大学に在学する男子学生で、且つ、自宅通学が困難な者の育英、指導、援助を行っています。寮生活が有意義なものであるように、寮長やOBが支援する「海の星プログラム」を実施し、寮生の教育と育成に努めています。また、食事を共にする共同生活が大切だと考え、寮で調理した食事を提供しております。
Uminohoshi Gakuryo (Maris Stella Dormitory) was founded in 1950 as a Men’s Dormitory for university students by Mr. Matashichi Hamanaka on his overall donation. Uminohoshi Gakuryo was allowed to be established as Incorporated Foundation (Chairman, Mr. Matashichi Hamanaka, passed away in 2006) in 1952, and as Public Interest Incorporated Foundation (Chairman, Mr. Ichitoko Hamanaka) in 2013.
At the time of foundation, Mr. Matashichi Hamanaka declared a dormitory platform based on his life aim, “Perfect Sincerity, Perfect Concession, Perfect Faith, Perfect Personality, Perfect Labor, and Perfect Service” and decided to support students’ lives in learning and raising their culture level, that will be effective to cultivate students to talented people who will make remarkable contributions to the global community in the different fields. For this purpose, this dormitory admits men’s students in universities in Kyoto city area and from home in a too long distance to commute. Supporting a fruitful dormitory life, Uminohoshi program is scheduled for education and encouragement by staffs and OB. Since “Eat together” is regarded as very important in the communal life, meals (breakfast and dinner) are served in the dormitory.
海の星学寮の運営/Purpose of Management
Uminohoshi Gakuryo supports men’s students of the universities within normally commutable distances in Kyoto City area, expecting that, throughout the communal life which requires mutual contacts of total personalities, students learn importance of investigation of the universal truth and solution of plural subjects based on the charity and the humanism and will grow into talented people.
