京都市内の大学に在学し、自宅通学が困難な男子学生の勉学を支援し、色々な大学、専攻の学生が寝食を共にする共同生活を通じて、社会有為な人材を育成することを目的にしています。
Uminohoshi Gakuryo supports men's students of the universities within normally commutable distances in Kyoto City area, expecting that, throughout the communal life which requires mutual contacts of total personalities, students learn importance of investigation of the universal truth and solution of plural subjects based on the charity and the humanism and will grow into talented people.

京都東山山麓の閑静な地にあり、哲学の道で知られる京都疎水や白川に近く、銀閣寺・法然院・真如堂、吉田神社などの名刹や８月の送り火で知られる大文字山に近く、勉学には最適の場所にあります。
Uminohoshi Gakuryo is located in the good environment for study, at the foot of the Higashiyama mountain (Daimonji mountain), near the philosopher's road and famous temples such as Ginkaku-ji, Honen-in, Shinnyo-do, and Yoshida Shrine.

男子31人/31 Men

大学院修士課程修了まで（大学院からの入寮は原則として認めない）であるが、最長6年とする。
原則として入寮は4月、退寮は3月とします。
The length of stay in Uminohoshi Gakuryo is 1-6 years. As another limitation, residents should leave Uminohoshi Gakuryo after completion of the graduate school (master course) or its analogue. Exceptionally, the extended stay of foreign students in the doctor course may be considered, when the application is approved by re-interview by the selection committee.

費用は銀行口座自動引き落としとします。ただし、電気料は手渡しとします。
Expenses should be paid to the Bank Account assigned to Uminohoshi Gakuryo.
Lighting and heating expenses for the private room should be handed directly to accountant.
